Event volunteers

Whether you have a few hours on a single weekend or are looking to be involved for longer, helping out at our community events is a great way to meet people and support the Friends and the Monument.

  • Assist at Community Events: Represent the Friends and connect with the community at our tabling booth for events such as Rogue Valley Earth Day Celebration in April, Ashland’s 4th of July Celebration, and the Bear Creek Salmon Festival in October.

  • Assist with our Hike and Learns: Help register and welcome guests while learning more about the Monument. Various Friday evenings and Saturday mornings from spring through autumn.

  • Assist with the BioBlitz: Help organize BioBlitz activities leading up to and during the event.

Hike or activity leader

Do you have a passion or an area of expertise that you would like to share with people in the Monument? We welcome artists, historians, naturalists, scientists, writers, photographers, musicians, and more!

  • Create and lead a Hike and Learn

  • Take folks on a Sunday hike

Stewardship

Help us conserve and care for your public lands. We hope to offer more opportunities soon, in collaboration with our partners at the BLM Medford District Office.

  • Join the nation in a day of community service on National Public Lands Day, an annual event on the 4th Saturday in September.

  • Fix a Fence: adopt a section of fencing along the eastern Monument boundary to maintain.

  • Ongoing monitoring: from butterflies to specific plants, document what you see in the Monument through inaturalist.org.
